I'm sorry you had to deal with that, and I'm glad it seems to be working out for you!

I did give my email to a few people, but I don't think they're the email types so we've pretty much lost touch, and I feel bad because I'm the one who left the avenues they're more active in. I feel as though I'm making demands on them keeping the contact going, when I'm the one who left and for reasons they might deem petty or trivial, or even non-existent, because they didn't have the same issues I did, and still have some hero-worshipping going on for the people I had to get away from. It's probably better to let the contact slide than have to continue the bullshit that made me leave in the first place, albeit on a smaller scale.

I know I did what I had to do for my mental health at the time, but it's hard venturing into any new playground for now. :(

Yeah, I hear that. I have yet to last in ANY community, online or off, for more than a couple years. It doesn't end in fire and opera that often (though it has once or twice) but yeah.

You can take a break from the playground. There's nothing wrong with that.
