You just have to be very particular about what you follow. When I first dipped my toe into the Tumblr pool, I made the mistake of following too freely and ended up with a lot of trash on my dashboard.

So I deleted my original tumblr (and never regretted it, even though I had a lot of stuff posted there), spun up a new one and am now far more discerning in who I follow. I don't get as much content, but I also don't get as much trash.
