What are some fandomy things you wanted to happen, either in a canon work or fandom stuff in general, that you now wish you hadn't?

Really early on in Castle, I wanted fewer silly episodes, and less monster of the week and more arcs. Now I miss when there were more fun episodes and less melodrama. (If there's one more major government conspiracy...)

Every time I think, "Man I wish they would hook up," it turns bad. Booth/Bones and House/Cuddy as two standouts of this.

Yeah, a lot of my "I hope this happens" pairings have turned bad, although one fixed itself and is more awesome than I could have imagined. (Leslie/Ben.) The others, though... urgh.

I know. It's like some trick TV shows play on the audience because ooh, all the wonderful chemistry and then when it happens it's if the whole show got on board the train to Suckville.

I wished for a crossover with one of my fandoms and Hannibal. I ended up getting a fic where Hannibal got close to the protagonist of the other show, and then captured and ate him.

I was just like "I don't know what else I expected."

When I was younger, I always wanted to go to a "special" or "different" school. In my earlier memories, Gravedale High, later Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters.

Turns out the whole process of actually having to leave the regular school system is less-than-fun and makes your parents very unhappy. I don't so much regret the leaving regular school itself - but the years that lead up to it - that, I really could do without.

A couple ships: Brennan/Booth and House/Cuddy. The way they got together and the subsequent ruined characterization ruined both shows to me.

This fandom is great! I just wish there were more people!
