I'll admit that I enjoy tags for character death because I'm not always in the mood for reading about it (as I am usually looking for fluff, smut, or happiness after lots of frankly unnecessary angst), and sometimes it can spoil a fic for me. (Especially if it happens at the end of a massive fic and there was absolutely no warning that the fic was going to take that sort of turn.)

However, I would never ask an author to tag their fic as such, I just appreciate it when people do. *shrugs*
