I feel the same way. Whenever I can't finish a show or game I'm really into because of money constraints, it makes me sadder than when I can't see my family or friends for similar reasons.

I get intense nostalgia for places and things. People? Not so much.

Myself, I've just reconciled to the fact that I'm a miserable, anti-social fucker. I've stopped letting it bother me, although I do get the odd Bridget Jones type worry every now again that I'll die on my own and be eaten by dogs before anyone notices I'm dead. Ah well, small price to pay for living happily the way I want to beforehand.
