Agent Carter

Anyone else watch the Agent Carter premiere? What'd you think?

Personally I thought it was amazing and just really really fun. Hope it lasts a long time.

Pretty good. Hopefully it can hold up for eight weeks.

It was so much fun! I really enjoyed watching it and I'm looking forward to the rest of the show. And I have to say I loved seeing little bits of humour from Peggy as well, she wasn't like super-stern in the movies or anything but she was a bit more prim and proper and just seeing her do a few goofy things. Oh my heart.

Yeah it was surprising how funny it was.

It was! And I loved it for having those bits of humour. :D

I liked it! It was a fun time, and Peggy is absolutely brilliant. I hope this gets (at least) another mini-season.

Guh, Hayley is gorgeous (dat body, dat style) and competent (the stair scene! The radio play fight! Picking the lock! Or, well, attempting it) and so endearing (I love the way she stuffs her cheeks with food, lmao. It's one of those small things I find seriously adorable). She also has crazy amounts of chemistry with everyone. (I can't decide if I ship her with Jarvis or not, or if he's even truly married, and I kind of love the thought of her and her waitress friend, though I doubt Marvel would ever go there.)

It was solid; I'm looking forward to the rest. (Marvel should give Nat her own show, if not a movie.)

I really love Jarvis as devoted husband so I'm not feeling that end of things at all. Yeah it'll be interesting to see where it all goes ship-wise. I do think they could stand to add a slightly larger ensemble.

It's just such a stylish show. I love it.

Regarding married Jarvis-- my friend and I agreed we got a Columbo vibe there. I mean, he wears a ring and probably is married, but I did think of Columbo at the mention of the offscreen wife.

I could ship Peggy and Sousa, which could lead to much awkwardness considering their different aims and motivations.

And yeah, I agree Marvel is unlikely to go to Peggy/Angie, but they've certainly set up some unrequited yearning on angie's part, if they chose to go at least that far. How I feel about that depends on how they handled it.

Well I can be down with Jarvis being a devoted husband and being great buddies with Peggy, but I also don't know if I can trust that he's being completely honest yet, which makes me question his marriage. His domesticity is adorable and endearing so I don't want anything about it to be false, but something about it doesn't feel completely real to me. Maybe I'm over-thinking it.

Either way they have great chemistry, but I'm fine with them staying friends. I don't think the show would ever go there (even if he wasn't married).

I would rather Peggy/Angie if Peggy needed to get together with someone, but again, that seems extremely unlikely.

And yes, very pretty!

I really loved all the tiny little things about her, don't get me wrong watching her kick-ass was all kinds of fun, but seeing her fumble with her lockpick and stuffing her cheeks like a hamster was adorable as fuck. Idk I guess we got to see her being more human and it was great.

I also can't wait to see how they develop her relationships because I liked them all, Jarvis+Peggy British snark is a thing I never knew I wanted until I got it.

Idk I've just got happy feelings about this show, I hope it gets another season or mini-series.

I'll never get tired of watching Peggy kick ass, but you are correct, watching her in a more down to earth setting was great. She was never untouchable or anything, but we got to see more of what makes her tick and it was lovely. Her snark with Jarvis was beautiful!

I agree to all of this. So, SO many reasons to love Peggy in these first two hours!

It's great fun and surprisingly charming. Really liking Peggy and Jarvis.
I'd only previously seen Hayley Atwell in Black Mirror, awesome to see her kicking ass and leading a series.

I pretty much adored it--loved Atwell, loved D'Arcy, loved the adventure and production quality. It's a mini-series, basically, so I hope it does really well and then they make another. (And if they're short self-contained series that should help keep things focused, I hope!)
