Mmmm, Asian buffet.

Actually, Heaven for me has Indian buffets, but close enough.

Uh-oh. Bunch of heathens, Asians. All that Buddhist philosophy stuff. And the Indians? Weird-colored gods with too many arms. Guess they're not going.

So how the hell can it be heaven if you shut out ALL THE WORLD'S PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO COOK?

Can you imagine eating Southern Baptist church-social food for all eternity? If I wasn't already damned, I'd start chanting the Lord's Prayer backwards right now!

DUDE INDIAN BUFFET CAN I COME VISIT YOUR HEAVEN?

Well, the verse goes "God so loved THE WORLD that He give His only son", so I imagine Him as a very multi-cultural supreme being. I mean, come on, he's GOD, he gets around.

I'm gonna have to say, there are so many ways the Divine has "spoken" to humans over the millennia...I cannot judge. I would not even presume to judge. I just think the Divine speaks to each culture in ways that would best MESS WITH each one. (and looking at the universe, it's OBVIOUS that diversity is valuable for its own sake, right?)

And that's not even getting into what IT has done to communicate with cats and ants and whales (etc, ad infinitum) in their respective languages....
