Wow, obviously it's never happened to you. I'm sure you must really have a problem with people who dislike certain foods, music, or types of weather because of a bad experience, too. How dare people make emotional associations! How dare people be angry at the reason for said emotional association!

so you're saying we are slaves to our emotions, which is kind of sad.

Just because you're prey to your emotion in one situation doesn't mean you can't beat it or that it will repeat throughout your life. Humans can be pretty emotionally messy. Personally, I don't feel there's anything wrong with that.

It's only sad in your perspective. Some people understand their emotions and control them, some people will learn how, some people will never learn and still somehow live happy lives.
