I like Isaac well enough, but I do think Lena and Nidhi are much more interesting and enjoyable characters. Smudge is the best character in the whole series, though, just as he was in the Goblin trilogy. Never thought I'd say that about a spider, but there it is.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-10 01:04 am (UTC)(link)I met Jim during summer 2013. He's a nice guy and an inspiration to me as a writer from the "If he can do it, so can I" mindset.
I didn't *love* the first book, but I listened to that via audiobook. (I dislike the narrator's choice for Lena's voice.) I was disappointed that I didn't like it more since I wish nothing but the best for him.
The 3rd book in the series comes out this month, I believe. I'm not sure I'll listen to it.
PS... I'm a librarian, so in theory I should LOVE this book so much my face melts.

It was only when I found out that there’s no fic or fanart for it that I realized I actually DID like it.
I kind of want to see Lena or Ponce de Leon art.
