She's been sick. I can't remember much about the first physical problem that made her go on hiatus, but I remember her going through surgery and me and my fandom friends being really worried. According to what I've read, her latest illness was Ameloblastoma, so she's been going through surgery for that, resting and getting prosthetics to replace the missing bone in her face.

I'm not sure she ever gave the full details of her first illness. Whatever it was required her to get a hysterectomy, though.

Additionally to her sickness, she also had to change publishers - this was the reason why Wild Adapter went on hiatus the first time.

You want a mangaka who can't be trusted to finish her stuff? Try Sugisaki Yukiru. I think she never once finished one of her own series. (The only thing she ever finished was Brain Powered and that was only because it was a manga adaption of a novel series and she didn't have to come up with a plot herself.).
