Well, you wouldn't know, really. It's not generally something people tend to worry about, though. Most often there are parts of your brain that actively work to inform you that you're awake and a part of reality.

I'm actually quite concerned that you say you've felt this way since middle school. ...You weren't doing any drugs or having any high fevers or hitting your head a lot back then, were you?

It sounds more like it's something they intermittently wonder rather than something they seriously entertain. And given that, it doesn't sound crazy to me - I used to idly wonder similar things when I was younger. I mean it's not really all that far from thinking about Descartes or matrix brain in a jar stuff.

But then maybe I'm super crazy too iunno

Also I remember there was one random old X-files comic where a character was talking about a near death experience and saying they sometimes wondered whether they were still in that moment imagining the rest of their life, and that idea also really spooked me.
