Ever take a look at tumblr? Most internet feminists sound like KKK members. There's a game called "SJW or Stormfront" for a reason. Calling for the death of men, screaming and controlling women, slutshaming and being racist as they shut down people of other races and genders. They're not even beyond drumming out their own who aren't good enough. There was a big stink about a recent feminist also being kinky and into humiliation when some nudes were leaked of her. Instead of rallying behind her, the whole blogosphere was tearing her down.

In fact, it's gone on for years.

I don't blame anyone for not wanting to associate with that after seeing dozens of posts about how all men should die trotted out as feminism.

It's not new, either. From trashing to twitter's toxic feminism bullying contests, the ideals being set aside to oppress, turn over and harass other women has been going on a long time.

-And before anyone starts going "I'm the reason" I believe in equality, you could even say I'm a feminist...except I find other feminists so noxious I won't go near them.

Basically I feel about feminism like I feel about Christianity. Good principles and ideas, incredibly obnoxious and toxic people who spit in the face of said ideas and make it petty and full of self-righteous bullshit. I'm not in grade school anymore; I'm not interested in that level of grade-school bullshit infighting, and that's what feminism online basically is these days.

Online is not the world entire. Certainly not bloody tumblr, thank God.

But online is how many people today ingest the world. Their friends are online. Their news. Their entertainment. Their world view is shaped by what they see on the internet. And a lot of what they see is this toxic SJW mentality.

This isn't just in Tumblr anymore. This victim mentality is beginning to show up around the internet and in universities (full of young people being shaped by the internet).

It is bleeding into the real world. Did you see the recent hubbub with Rolling Stone? Where they took the word of one person and accused a fraternity of being a bunch of raping monsters? And then had to retract it because OOPS! All the evidence is beginning to add up to her being a liar.

This, if the internet is your main source of information and socialization, that is the impression you will get.

To add on to this: It would not be so bad if feminists actually CALLED out those people. But they don't. They ignore the radicals instead of stopping them. And then they act surprised by people who don't want to be associated with feminism.

Sorta funny, most of the time they say "Not all feminists are like that!" Which sounds rather familiar...

Kind of like how moderate Muslims ignore extremist Muslims. I mean, never mind the Muslims who've spoken out against extremism, and the Muslims who are fighting against ISIS. It just hasn't been LOUD enough and we haven't heard enough of it for it to matter, right?

I've always found the "all feminists are man haters!!" argument so laughably dumb.
I've litterally seen women just say stuff like, "I wish my boyfriend wouldn't make rape jokes around me./I wish guys would stop catcalling me, it makes me uncomfortable." And instantly be labeled as "manhaters."
The fact is that most feminists aren't. People just like to demonize them and twist their words around instead of listening to what theyre actually saying. it's honestly really obnoxious. This entire thread is a perfect example of this.

I wouldn't say the majority of feminists hate men, but the movement by no means includes men or works on equalling the playing field when it's at the man's disadvantage. Which would be fine if it wasn't for the insistence that feminism helps guy's issues too.

And every group is judged by their most vocal and nasty and in feminism's case that's still rad fems. That isn't right, of course, but it isn't like it's completely made up either.

I get that, but I don't think its actively a terrible thing if feminists want to focus on female issues over male ones. I don't see people freaking out whenever the NAACP wants to focus solely on black issues or the lgbt community focusing solely on lgbt issues.
So why is suddenly a bad thing when feminists do it?

Because feminists claim to be about gender equality and helping men AND women. You can't say that then not actually do anything for men.

You know I came across someone not that long ago who bemoaned the fact that feminists didn't speak out against 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I mean, jesus fuck, FS, we all KNOW feminists have spoken out against that book because we've had marathon fucking arguments about it. But someone who wanted to believe that feminists supported it chose to ignore all of that, because acknowledging it would have involved him challenging his worldview.

The same shit is going on right here, right now. You don't want to see moderate feminists because you want to believe that all feminists are bad. You've found an enemy, and it feels really fucking good to have one, and you need to keep that high going at any fucking cost.

We are all fucking animals, you guys. We like to think we're better, but we are just a bundle of instincts constantly in denial. There's Us and there's Them and we'll go to any lengths to proof that we're Good and They are Bad. We are fucking disgusting.
