Hmm, now I'm wondering how much was actually released in America... I have some of Saiyuki Reload (manga) and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock (anime) but have no idea what comes after that. I don't think I ever finished the Even a Worm arc! (Though I remember thinking Hazel was strangely attractive.)

I don't remember a woman priest! Maybe I didn't get that far, or maybe my memory is just shit because it's been a long time. We both need to catch up...

Awww. :( It probably doesn't help for me to say that I think Hakkai and Sanzo have a great friendship, but they do! You shipping them is fine! I wish there was more fic out there for you. (There was always plenty out there for me, since yet again I went with the popular ship. I didn't mean to, it just happened.)

The woman priest is in the latest arc, iirc? Could be wrong. She's pretty much a clone of our Sanzo, down to the gun and personality, and then the other three get into a debate about wait, should they actually be calling him Sanzo given it's the title and the other one's also a Sanzo, and meantime Sanzo's just twitching away, it's hilarious XD

I think the same of Hakkai and Gojyo, actually! - that they have an awesome friendship - I totally see them as being really close, and I can also see why people ship them. I think I just prefer the way Hakkai's and Sanzo's personalities play off each other, moreso than Hakkai and Gojyo.

I don't know what it is about anime - I always end up shipping the unpopular stuff and then I whine to my friends (who invariably ship the popular ships and just laugh at me) about the lack of fic for my pairing...

lmao, I don't think Sanzo would take well to his friends (or anyone) calling him something else. Maybe they should just stick with Sanzo and avoid all that beating trouble. She sounds entertaining, though!

I can understand that! The dynamics are different, and that kind of dynamic just appeals to you. I can see why people ship Hakkai and Sanzo, too. They would be sweet together.

Poor you. I've been in that situation, but not often. I'm kind of boring and predictable with my ships, but I don't mind since it means there's usually plenty of stuff for me to enjoy. It's hard being in a fandom and shipping something with much enthusiasm but not really having anyone to discuss it with.

Yepyep! She is pretty fun, though the arc was only just getting started when I stopped reading - should catch up on that!

I think I tend to just be drawn to the quieter sorts of characters, especially those that are friends already, and it's that dynamic I ship. The let's-stay-home-and-read-books-together sort of couple XD Hakkai's more social than Sanzo, but I think he's also quite happy to be home alone with a good book, so... *shrugs*

I've just given up on anime fic - I always, always end up shipping unpopular ships, so I don't bother getting my hopes up anymore =P Funnily, in other kinds of media, I often end up shipping something popular. It's something about anime/manga... I just end up writing stuff to entertain myself with. If I ever start posting again, maybe I'll start with that Sanzo/Hakkai fic I very nearly lost when my computer crashed (then I shrieked with delight when I found an old copy on Google Drive, heh).
