My SO has a kepi, black leather. It's awesome and looks spiff on him. I think most people either probably didn't notice or thought it was neat.

I mean - Civil War reenactments happen all the time. Plus, you know - kids wear 'gear' of their favorite whatever all the time. Kids walk around in cloaks, with fake lightsabers, with Star Trek shirts or whatever....
