Blah thanks for reminding me I still need to watch this

Really? I dunno. To me their relationship always seemed like it poked gentle fun at the whole 70s stereotype of husband/wife portrayals. In that sense it was more realistic because Mrs. Forman wasn't the Perfect Housewife and Mother type, but it did still fall recognizably into the sitcom stereotype of hardass father vs. more nurturing mother.

Agreed. What made it go above and beyond for me was the feeling that these two really did have genuine affection and love for each other (and that they had an active sex life as well). ~ Despite Red's faults, they are still one one my favorite TV [middle-aged married het] couples as well.

I'll forever love that episode with the flashback to how they really met, and I do like how throughout the series they stuck together without any major squabbles. They did seem realistic in that they had problems but they worked through them together (unless I'm forgetting something major... it has been a while).

I'm probably a huge cynic but their marriage always seemed a bit too idealistic to me. Though I'd like to believe that couples can work through problems and still be romantic despite being together for several years.

They were a really cute couple though. I always enjoyed their scenes.

Red and Kitty were one of the best parts of the show.

Image: screen shot of the characters Kitty and Red from That 70s Show. He’s looking cynically at her, she’s smiling up at him.

Text: I think they had the best and most realistic tv marriage ever.

I agree. I loved this show. Not so much after Topher Grace left though. It was just weird after that.
