RTD Era poster? Or fanart?

[personal profile] othellia 2015-01-13 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
So I'm planning on meeting John Barrowman at a con in March and getting him to sign something. My one question is what. Usually I have actors sign DVDs that I own, but the First Series boxset I have doesn't have him anywhere on the cover or disks and I always loved Doctor Who and SJA over Torchwood.

And then I thought about posters. I like getting posters with multiple characters on them, so I have a sort of Pokemon collect-them-all goal. I actually already own this poster. The only downside is that I'll never be able to get Elisabeth Sladen's signature which might be kind of depressing. That and it is a very staged shot.

My other thought would be to somehow get a print of this 9th doctor era fanart which I absolutely adore. The only downside is that if I ever manage to track down David, his signature would have to be on a different thing...

IDK, my question is this. What would you guys rather get the signature on? Poster or fanart?

ETA: Or if you have other amazing multi-character fanart, feel free to share!!

This isn't really relevant.

I just wanted to share with you that on 4chan's /hm/ board a while back there was a thread about a guy (who was not a Doctor Who fan) having a gay threesome with John Barrowman while at a con, and it was really funny.

Welp smell ya later

I think a work that the actor's featured on-- like the playbill after a show, or a book for a writer. I guess a picture? Or a notebook? I had one of my favorite writers sign my journal...

Enjoy the con btw! He;s beautiful and seems to be a lovely person, John Barrowman.

Yeah, normally I'd have him simply sign a DVD that I have with him in it. I have an Avatar DVD with Grey DeLisle's signature (Azula's VA) and a Sarah Jane Adventures DVD signed by Anjli Mohindra...

But the one DVD set I'd want him to sign doesn't have any reference to him being a guest starring character, no name mention, no picture, no nothing...

I do have a TARDIS journal that I'm currently using for work... I kind of like the idea of something I can display though because RTD's Doctor Who was such a personal thing to me. And I like the idea of starting with his signature and collecting other cast members' down the line... IDK, I still have two months to decide.

And thanks! I just hope I won't hyperventilate too much.
