There's a gofundme currently being run by a pathological liar (and sometime rapist) I used to know, and my immediate reaction to it was "Wow, she's actually found a way to monetize her made-up sob stories." I have to remind myself that, like most systems, it shouldn't be judged by the small minority that abuse it.
