When I was a kid, my Daddy was stationed in Iceland by the Navy, leaving Mom, big brother, and moi in VA. Mom was at school and working full time and didn't always have the time/money to go to the grocery store. One day I asked for waffles and syrup for breakfast and we didn't have any so she took toast, poured syrup over it, cut it up and voila. Breakfast.
