It could be a lot of places. My friend went abroad to Egypt a few years ago and she constantly got stopped by children and such who were amazed that she had blonde hair because a lot of them had never seen it before

Ooo, Egypt! Maybe so. I'm sure there are plenty of other places but I would never try to guess because I would fail terribly. Having grown up in America I can't imagine that, but I'm sure it isn't uncommon in some places.
