Re: Semi-related to #12 - Fandom burn-out?

(Anonymous) 2015-01-14 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
When that happened to me (after mixture of a toxic fandom, being trolled for liking the wrong character and several RL issues at the same time) I took a break from fandom and when I came back, I did it on lurking mode.

I never stopped following canons or giving a chance to new ones, but mostly because I got away before fandom soured them for me.

Now... well, I'm doing things slowly.
I'm mostly stay anon if I can, but I'm also using my old accounts again and thanks to that I managed to reconnect with some friends.

TBH I don't feel as confortable in fandom as before, but I'm trying to see this as an oportunity to change and be more selective about where/with who I interact.
