I am reading a book about art therapy and dissociatives. And it is EMBARRASSINGLY bad. Horrendously, hilariously bad. I have not been so entertained reading a therapy book in AGES. I checked out this book in the hope of educating my fine self, but now I can't stop reading it! It's like 50 Shades of Art Therapy!

Like, there are enough typoes to have some hilarious results--my favorite so far has been a mention of people keeping "dairies and journals." There is also some really dodgy research and bullshit claims--Japanese mothers masturbate children in public! In some countries somewhere that never get stated, all small children are kept in brothels for sex ed! (There are no citations on these claims, by the way. Though they DO cite a paper on Roman gladiators to source a claim that rape was common in the caveman days.)

This book was published in 2001. Could've fooled me.

I CAN NOT STOP READING THIS TERRIBLE TERRIBLE BOOK. PLEASE SEND HELP.

My friendly neighborhood library! Where else? No way I'd pay MONEY for this toilet paper!

(Also, there is shockingly little about ART THERAPY. I'm kinda disappointed, since I really did honestly want to learn more about art therapy with dissociatives. Apparently sexual violence is always depicted in art with wedge shapes and eyes. More bullshit, and I am sore disappointed.)
