I rarely read genderswap but if that's what interests you I don't see the big deal. Don't know how much there is in SGA fandom, but I've def seen a fair share in some of my other fandoms.

I'm not a fan of genderbent Rodney having sex because for some reason, I just can't help but imagine him/her being Kate H (the actor's real life sister who also had a role in SGA) and then it squicks me out because 1, I don't like RPF and 2, she just seem so "wholesome." oh well...

I always picture girl!Rodney as Mary McCormack. Mostly because of her show In Plain Sight, in which I could never see her as anything but a female!Rodney. But I also like that she's not super tiny :)

On your last point, I personally love fics where Rodney is insecure about his bbodyas compared to how fit and handsome John is, so I kind of get it.

I'll sometimes go for always-a-girl fic but I tend to avoid the genderswap for reasons fairly long winded to get into here. Anyways, SGA has tons of it for a reason. Nobody will judge you for it there, OP.
