To be fair to him, in between the petty tricks and small annoyances, he also steered interstellar civilisations into contact with each other, fought a civil war among his own (omnipotent) people, reintroduced the idea of procreation among his own people, and willingly tried to sacrifice his existence for the greater good when given no other options. So, I mean. He's petty and small-minded in personal interactions, but he's got a fair few larger goals playing in the background.
