Re: (Non-TMI) cramping

My father was having terrible leg cramps. The trainer at his gym told him to drink Gatorade, which Dad credits with making the cramps go away. It's worth a try if you can stand drinking something that smells like cleaning fluid.

I'll try that. Admittedly, I don't particularly like gatorade, but maybe I can find something similar that I like? |D

NA

I am not a nutritionist or anything and everything I know about this comes from random Internet research and my own wild-ass theories. So basically, you shouldn't trust me. But, from everything that I've read, the key point of Gatorade is the concentration of sugar and sodium to water (for reasons having to do with how hydration works in the human body) - everything else is AFAIK mostly just flavor.

So if you're not a fan of Gatorade, you could give a try to just dissolving salt and sugar in water. The ratio should look something like half a teaspoon of salt to four or five teaspoons of sugar to 4 cups of water (you can find much more precise ratios if you poke around, but I don't think precision actually matters much - note that it's probably better to err on the side of being more diluted, not stronger).

Hope this helps!

I'll look more into that, thank you!
