The main text of Christianity may by some people be regarded as "the whole bible" but the actual teachings of Christ (you know, the guy the religion is based on) is not that. You were talking about the "teachings of Christianity".

The teachings at their core are those of love. What people decided to do with it is the problem.

(I never said the Chantry didn't have that.)

Jesus was also obsessed with the apocalypse, believed others were going to hell, was -not- necessarily anti-war and absolute pro-peace, etc. His teachings were not this ultimate peace, love and happiness package deal. They just weren't.

And Christianity as a religion is a helluva lot more than merely the teachings of Jesus. I'm not sure any scholar, religious or otherwise, would argue that only the written sayings of Jesus are what defines Christianity. Christianity is an extension and sequel to Judaism, and always has been.

sa

and to add, Jesus also was Jew who believed in Old Testament teachings. His followers after all define him as the Messiah of Judaism. By definition, "Jesus Christ" cannot be separated from his religious significance.

I mean, you can believe whatever you want, and pick and choose your beliefs by all means. but you are still picking and choosing.
