I haven't been to the Hobbit kink meme since...idek (thanks for the reminder! After Unexpected Journey there were some fantastic fills there) so I haven't experienced this, but that does sound frustrating. There's nothing wrong with fem!Bilbo (people like what they like *shrugs*), but that seems like something that one might want to ask the prompter about... (And if the prompter specifically states "I don't want this," they could always find another prompt. Or prompt themselves, then fill with whatever they have in mind.)

I very rarely read genderswap so that would throw me off as well.

(I actually never noticed how much genderswap this fandom had until after BOFA. It's pretty abundant in the AO3 tag.)
