I would rather she have sung it with her friends than the real singer. The video for it seems like it's trying hard to be inclusive but just comes across as rather catty.

I'll think of her next time I hear it.

It's part of the reason why I sometimes like to pretend that this is just a lost song from the soundtrack. It's actually quite catchy, but I like the song more when I think of Tracy and the whole cast (including Edna!) just having fun rather than being catty as another person said.

There's so much to like about Hairspray. I've only seen the most recent version, but I keep hoping that I can one day find the original. It really is a sweet musical.

I have the original version on DVD. it's one of my favorite movies. (and I've met John Waters! he's so funny!)

Oh wow! I'd be scared to meet him but I'm still jealous.

I love the original but can't get on with the remake. It was too heavy handed, and lost that sense of innocent wickedness.

The original is very, very different, but also amazing. Also, I have the hugest crush on Nikki Blonsky, I swear. Still pissed I couldn't get anyone to watch Huge.
