I have no thoughts about Lee Pace but i *did* like his Thranduil. He was so damn *pretty*.

But yes - BLEH.

And it could have easily been two movies. Hell, it *could* have been one long movie. And too much super-over-saturated 'these people glow' photoshop effect, especially trying to make sure Orlando Bloom/Legolas looked unaged. It was just...weird.

Yeah, Legolas looked so WEIRD. If they wanted to make him look younger they should have got a really good makeup artist instead of drenching him in CGI. Proper application of makeup can work wonders.

This. Jeez, it was just...bizarre.

Just about every decision they made concerning Legolas is bizarre in those movies. Glowing Legolas! Gravitiy defying Legolas! Totally in lurve with Mary-Sue and totes not jealous Legolas! Go-find-yourself-a-boyfriend(he is called Strider) Legolas!

Heeeeee!
Well, finding Aragorn the boyfriend doesn't much bother me but, yes - the rest was weird and made for some odd moments.

Worst, i think, was that Legolas was kind of 'grown up' in these movies, as far as experiences and emotions, and in LotR he played him a bit less worldly, particularly when it came to death and war, and i *liked* that.

Kind of jarring.

Oh, me neither, it was just so completely out of nowhere in a weird effort to generate more ~continuity~ after kicking continuity in the teeth during the rest of the movie.

It was strange. It almost seemed like the timeline was switched. Just... huh?
