Re: My thoughts on the massive gender argument going on above me

Nobody is pretending sex differences don't exist IN THE REAL WORLD.

One anon is insisting on applying REAL WORLD SCIENCE and REAL WORLD SEXES to a MADE UP UNIVERSE where anuses self-lubricate and "omegas," a completely MADE UP SEX, get pregnant, and everyone is running on MADE UP PHEROMONES in a MADE UP SOCIAL CONTEXT

And doesn't get how ridiculous that is.

Oh, I am that anon.

I'm not insisting that people apply real world standards. Heaven knows people can (and should!) write whatever they want.

I just don't get it personally.

For me it's a bit of "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" situation.

You not getting it personally is one thing. You going into a thread about it and declaring that you "just don't get it," talking how things are incorrect or should be some other way in other people's made up worlds, and how people don't actually know what they like or shouldn't care about things because they are interchangeable to you, is obnoxious.

Well I only said things were incorrect when they WERE incorrect. Like when people said that bearing children doesn't mean you're female.

But that is, quite literally, the definition of female.

I'm not really sure when I said that people don't actually know what they like or shouldn't care about things because I find them interchangeable. If that's how it came across then I apologize because it wasn't my intention.

But that is, quite literally, the definition of female IN THE REAL WORLD.

In a world where anuses self-lubricate and men have children, IT IS MAYBE DIFFERENT AND TOTALLY MADE UP. Good grief

And then someone provided an example of something that's male but bears young, and you have conveniently ignored it. You're not interested in being factual, you're interested in being *right.*

Honestly, it seems like you're doing that thing where you say something that will piss people off, and some people get angry and say stupid shit in response, and other people try to be reasonable, and then you ignore the latter and try to score points off the former. (I used to post in the same threads as a very argumentative feminist, and you could never get anywhere with her because there was always at least one person who would say stupid shit for her to zero in on. Her favorite target was the fundamentalist Christian, but when he actually made a good point, she would ignore him and focus in on anyone else who'd said something stupid.)

Okay then.

I'll stop. I guess I just want to clarify that I don't judge people who like omega verse -- I don't think they're creepy perverts or misogynists or anything. Hell, I probably I enjoy things that fit more on the "creepy pervert" scale than anything in omega verse.

It's just one of those things that makes me scratch my head, I guess.

"I personally just don't get it so I'm going to rant on and on in the most obnoxious and judgmental and 'Ur doin it rong!' way imaginable.

I don't actually care what people do though, despite my constantly telling them what to do and how to do it."

(pro-tip: if you just don't get something personally, you don't expend so much energy telling other people they're wrong. You, my dear, are incredibly overinvested.)
