(In fandom, at least) It seems much harder to find people who actually like the films. I have my share of complaints and think all three should've been altered in some way, but I still enjoy them. IMO the casting was perfect (I even liked Evangeline as Tauriel, I just wish the romantic subplot had been canned) and I quite liked the way Thorin was handled. (Again, not that there's nothing I wouldn't change about Thorin's scenes, but he was way more likable than I expected. I say this as someone who enjoyed book Thorin and is kind of in love with Richard Armitage.)
