My parents annoyed me by filling my birthday with football. There's something about the sound of sports announcing that gets under my skin like nothing else. So of course they were listening to football on the way there and back from dinner and they were talking about football all through dinner and now they're watching football while I've retreated back to the safety of my room. I asked my mom to wait to do birthday cake until tomorrow because I can't take anymore and they would have had it on in the background.

Sorry about your psoriasis. I have eczema and the itching and pain has been bad for me lately too.

Ugh, I know it sucks. We had the family over today for dinner and they were watching football. It was so annoying. I just hung out in my room until they left.

I'm watching football with my fam right now. The game noises don't bother me, but I haaaaate the way my brother yells during the game. (I also don't like it being on if nobody is watching it and people tend to just leave the TV on and walk out of the room...) If my birthday were on a game day (it's in the summer so that's not an issue for me) I'd probably just schedule our dinner for another day because they would *not* want to give up football for the day but I'd also feel annoyed. It is pretty disrespectful for them to be constantly listening to it/talking about it during dinner when you are clearly not interested.

My parents yell during the games too and it does nothing good for my anxiety. I hate this time of year. Not that the rest of the year is much better. They're just as bad when watching baseball.

I don't get the yelling if you're at home. They can't hear you from there!

I've told my mom that but she just laughs and then goes back to yelling. It's actually pretty funny when it's not annoying because my mom will start lecturing the players. "It's your job to hit the ball!" She has a thing about people not doing their jobs.

And that sucks. Even from the perspective of someone who kind of likes football, it sucks, because it's your freaking birthday and they should at least find some way to negotiate around that. I'm sorry.

Especially if they don't even have the excuse of being Pats or Colts fans (I don't know whether or not they are, and it sucks either way, but it would be like... at least a little bit of an explanation I guess)
