The vampire thing was done a while ago though. My guess is that currently the writers don't like it so much but don't want to reverse it because it makes her more useful in a fight. Not to mention she was depowered before she became a vampire, so she wouldn't even have the fireworks unless they *also* fixed that, which is more of a stretch. On the other hand, having her suffer big inconveniences would not only make the X-Men geniuses look incompetent but then they'd have to show her trying to ditch the vampirism, and we're back to explanation #1.

Yeah, I dropped out of Marvel with Civil War, so I'm ten years out of date. It's probably just as well.

Oh, Marvel and DC. Never stop with your perpetual retcon machine, desperately trying to reinvent characters to make them cooler.

Well, these aren't retcons though - they're both new things that happened to her. And the reinvention thing works sometimes - see my icon. Nope, Liefeld, your character is in fact a lot cooler now than he was when you created him.

That's true. But I've generally been okay with my decision to mostly leave the Big Two. Deadpool is also WAY more fun now than he was with Liefeld.

It's just that also those reinventions can remove everything I liked about a character. (AMANDA WALLER NO!)

Ah yes, current Deadpool is great. And that's sadly true - but my mentality is we win some and we lose some. I don't like all changes but I don't want them to keep the characters static. Then again, DC is a different case, since they did complete new versions instead of changing something here and there.

Oh yeah, most definitely. It's an inevitable part of how the business is run. It just doesn't really work for me anymore. No shame for you enjoying it! Just not my thing no more.
