IMO like 80% of stuff that's tagged with Light BDSM at least on AO3 could be tagged more accurately (or, I guess, additionally) as Bondage or Dominance specifically. Because that seems to be what it mostly amounts to.

Would that be accurate w/ your experience?

Well, the SM side of the BDSM equation has never strictly been a requirement, even for people who consider themselves part of the "lifestyle". It's all due to the fact that S&M is something that's usually an all or nothing kink- most people either really enjoy it or really don't.

But I'm old, see. For me having to tag too specifically for things is just not something I care to do or see in fic because it ruins part of the surprise.
