I've never seen any of these movies. I was pre-disappointed, lol. I love the LOTR trilogy, started crying as soon as the music started up in the first Hobbit trailer, then started seeing clips and lost all interest. Radagast made me feel sick and embarrassed, and I have a really high tolerance for grossness and hardly ever get secondhand embarrassment. I don't know how they got that mess out of a couple lines about a cool wizared who likes birds, but unnecessarily epic adaptations of very small stories have to fill the time somehow, I guess. Then the more serious clips I saw just looked like a video game I really didn't want to play. At least they haven't pulled a George Lucas and messed with the originals.

Awww. They weren't *horrible*, but yes - way too much comic relief re: Radagast. I didn't like that at all, either.

But then, some of the Gimli/Legolas stuff made me cringe a little, too.

IMO, Jackson has a slightly immature sense of humor that gets the better of him sometimes. The bird shit on Radagast's head was a good example.
