If you want it to last, buy a Henry. They last forever. Although I'm not sure if they're available worldwide.

I've heard some bad stories about Dysons and they're expensive. But then some people love theirs.

Cheap vacuums do only last a few years, unfortunately. Our current Electrolux has lasted 15 years but it was mid-range and parts of the plastic have now snapped.
