24. Me too. I wish so many of them didn't get the hackjob treatment when they were dubbed. Magical girl anime could still do well, but sadly there's nowhere for it on TV uncut. Every fangirl goes "lol put it on adult swim!! ^_^", but Adult Swim would probably run an Assy McGee/Squidbillies back-to-back marathon before they aired a magical girl series. I hope PPGZ isn't torn apart when it's dubbed. :(

31. I find Sweeney Todd as captivating as a bag of rice, but my best friend had a part in a high school production of the play and loved it to bits. She went and saw the movie and loved it just as much. (Of course, she was proposed to during that movie, but that seriously had nothing to do with her opinion.) There's nothing wrong with liking one version over the other. The movie might even get more people interested in the play.

All I have learned from voicing this opinion lately is that an awful lot of theater kiddies have questionable taste.

And taste is relative. No one is better or worse than anyone else for liking a different version. You like the original, they like the movie. You don't have to agree with them, but saying their preference is worse is rather elitist, and eltists of any sort really irk me.

And no, my apathy towards Sweeney Todd does not affect my opinion. Fans of almost anything will almost always pull the "questionable taste" argument on someone and it pisses me off. Can't someone enjoy anything on their own without someone screeching to them about how horrible it is?
