I had to stop reading after Alex's loss, since he was my favorite. I wouldn't mind seeing a movie for them, though!

Runaways secret!!!
:D
OK, seriously, I think Runaways may be too big a shift from what the MCU has been doing to fit into their Big Plan (TM). But it would be nice if the movies could catch up to comics of even twenty years ago a little bit.

And yes, this is related to what is wrong with trying to make comics more "streamlined," "iconic," and "movieverse-like." The comics should be pulling the movies toward more complexity and thematic variety, not becoming more like the movies have been so far (kind of dumb and repetitive).

OMG, Runaways secret. I loved it at the start, but I stopped reading at some point, mostly because I was bummed about Gert.

Man, I still hate the shit out of Gertie. She was so annoying.

Why is Gert not chubby here? BC

(Anonymous) 2015-01-23 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Some artists really couldn't handle chubby Gert and this is what they managed - "not emaciated Gert". It was pretty disappointing.

Well, I actually think the serial nature of those particular comics would be better suited to a TV show, personally. Although it would probably end up on CW, and they seem to have some sort of exclusive contract with DC.

I'd much rather see a Runaways TV show, I think that would be a better fit than a movie. (Ditto Young Avengers, for that matter.)

Woo yeah, Runaways!
I totally feel your pain, anon. I mean don't get me wrong I like the Marvel movies that are coming out now but I would die of happiness if they came out with a movie for this. (Or a TV series like some commenters said.)

Though who knows how it would turn out. Maybe it's better if they just leave it alone.

Text: While I’m really happy there are so many upcoming Marvel movies, I’ll be forever sad that plans for a Runaways movie were permanently shelved. Ant-Man? Captain Marvel? I could have done without either of those, really.

It'd be harder to pull off without some of the background events of the comic universe, so I do understand. But yeah, shit sux.

Aww, Runaways!

I feel like Marvel needs to finish what they've started with some of the MCU (Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Avengers) and let those end before starting all these other projects.

They are going to get into a predicament where their current stars won't want to carry on (Chris Evans already said he doesn't want to), and I'm not sure if the fans are going to care for the movies if they have to keep recasting to suck more money out of this genre finish the infinity stones plot.
