I tried once and was failbarred. I love reading secrets, I love reading comments though I don't participate very much, but I don't 'get' secrets. It's probably a generational thing since I'm nearly certain they're written in a form of English I just don't speak. Then again, I'm ancient in internet years.

You'll get no argument from me, OP... but that's how things work. Lots of people will complain, but most of the complainers will do absolutely nothing besides that. Because complaining is easy and then they can go off feeling all self righteous without actually making an effort.

Sometimes I do wonder if the people complaining about the secret count and that fs is dying are even submitting any secrets of their own.

You have to actually have secrets worth submitting first, of course. Unless you just make something up, but I would say that's "doing it wrong" as well.
