Thank you! I loved Hey Arnold and I knew it still had a fandom, but I didn't know about any of this!

You're welcome! If you remember the episode "The Journal" that was essentially a lead up to the movie that was supposed to have a theatrical release, The Jungle Movie. The Hey Arnold movie was actually meant to be a made for TV movie, but Nick pushed it to theaters. It bombed, and so they scrapped TJM. In it Arnold goes to Central America with his class, after having won a contest. There he would have found his parents with Helga's help and confessed to her/they would have had a brief kiss that Gerald then interrupts.

Craig Bartlett recently did a podcast interview and said Nickeldeon is actually looking into rebooting Hey Arnold in some form, but only if they can spin it in a way to appeal to the current 6-11 demographic. He's also developing a new show for Nick called "Sky Rat".
