Text: It annoys me the extent of the focus on her romance. It completely ignores her narrative importance.

She adds to the story!!!

How her desire to intercede in middle earth contrasts with Thranduils’ isolationism.

And her character acts as a reflection of Bilbo’s character arc with how both of them left home, inspired by an outsider and how their relationship develops with a dwarf. Thorin for Bilbo and Kili for Tauriel.

But no, everyone overlook that for the romance. :(
