from what I've seen the IB stuff it not so much about 'IB as a romance' because that's actually handled pretty well. It's more to do with the relationship he enters with Dorian if neither of them are romanced because there's just a thread of stuff through it that seems OOC for the pair of them (especially when you compare how IB acts with a romanced Inquisitor and how that arc plays out)and just adds some rather uncomfortable stuff.

(addition) although even so there has been some highlighting that with the IB/Inquisitor that there's some stuff that could've been done better to do with the 'setting up' of it
