In fairness, Western porn is pretty similar in some ways.

How often is "teen" used as a search term (even though the actual performs, of course, are over 18)?

Or the number of pornographic videos that feature crying women and gaping/abused holes?

You could draw a lot of really negative conclusions about Western societies form our porn. But I don't think they reflect people's actual relationships.

I think there's a difference between porn that's, you know, porn, and porn that's marketed as a fun and cute game with a cast of likeable characters. Littlewitch Romanesque can be judged as art--even good art! It's just good art with a giant, gaping asterisk.

Okay, that's fair, and I do agree with that. It is wrong to draw general conclusions about Japan from anime child porn.

but also, anime child porn is effed up and the people who wanted it off of TVTropes were right
