27.) This, my friend, is why Classics majors exist. x3 More power to you. (Hector was my favorite, too. But I confess, the Aeneid is my favorite of those crazy epics. ILU Aeneas.)

On a somewhat more serious note, I used to be one of those people that thought One Piece was totally unappealing - the art style and the way it was pitched to me totally turned me off. When I finally got conned into watching the first five or so episodes, I got hooked right off -- Luffy and Zoro are still my favorite characters by a landslide -- and I haven't looked back. It's a damn good show. It's fun to watch, and if your friends are jerks about it, they probably have some guilty pleasure they don't like to admit they like, too.
