Hope the vet trip is nothing serious!

Especially since you're currently without a cable needle, I suggest taking a look at this tutorial on cabling without using one: http://grumperina.com/knitblog/cables.htm I found shortly after I started cabling that the cable needle just got in my way, and this made it a lot easier.

It didn't turn out to be (as far as we could tell? I couldn't afford blood tests on top of x-rays, but the x-rays are normal, he doesn't have cancer or anything), and the doc thinks he'll get better- she thinks he ate something that irritated his intestines, and gave him a lot of gas, so that's he was vomiting/not eating, but whatever it was is no longer in his system so he doesn't need surgery.

Thanks for the link! I ended up switching to using my headband as a make-shift cable needle, but this looks interesting. :D
