Positivity Thread

Say something positive about something that's usually/often talked about negatively.

Bonus points if it's something you're known for being negative about or hating.

Extra cookie bonus if you manage to be positive without qualifiers or other negativity.

I'm a Christian who finds anti-theist and especially anti-Christian arguments a very refreshing change of pace. I think there should be room for all kinds of attitudes toward religion as long as no one is forcing their opinions on anyone.

There's a bunch of Muslim youths here who organized a dinner for very poor and homeless people on Christmas Eve. It's a charity the set up and the do stuff like that. They even got some small presents for small children, regardless of religion. Since Islam once again had bad publicity with what went on in France, stuff like that should be said, too.

Aw, what a nice thing for those young folks to do! Good on them.

It's a nice little charity. It's basically based on "love thy neighbour", broadly, and the philosophy is that before trying to change the world, you should help the people in our street/town/whatever with little things.

It's things like that that makes me shake m head at old folks who claim young people are the problem - nah, there's shitty people all ages, but there's plenty of young people making the world better.

Aw, that's so sweet. What a good charity.

And yeah, there are jerks and helpers of all ages. I think it's good to be appreciative of everyone who helps!

I've been very critical of the writing of the Spock and Uhura romance in the reboots, but from a purely aesthetic point of view, they're a gorgeous couple. Unsurprising, of course, given how good-looking both Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana are.

The big studios take a lot of flack, but I really do think there's a lot of cool, original movies being produced these days. We often have an over-idealized image of the past because we remember Star Wars and forget Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo.

Are you tryin' to start somethin' with Herbie fans?

I unironically enjoyed The Mortal Instruments movie, mostly because the cast was uniformly appealing. I also found the effects well-done. I'm actually sorry there probably won't be another, because I found it a lot of fun.

Destiel shippers have been known to produce some truly breathtaking fanart.
