If you're a person who is especially susceptible to suggestion ... yeah, that's probably true. Or someone who is lonely and rp is the only source of intimacy in your life...

I think it goes further than that, still. Certain types of RP can in fact create a false sense of intimacy. I remember RP'ing with this girl and, we weren't really a great match to begin with), but, she stopped because she was depressed and couldn't muter it anymore - and it was odd, i felt like a weird sense of responsibility for her. Definitely not a crush, but more of a level of involvement that someone I'd casually talk to on a forum or whatever.
