My favorite muffin of all time is the poppy seed muffin from Granny's Muffin House. I'm not finding the exact recipe online, but if you wanted, I could type it up. I like the ubiquitous lemon poppy seed things, but I like this better. Just be sure you're using cream sherry in it, not dry or "cooking" sherry!

As you can tell from the link, the cookbook is OLD and from a small press. I grew up eating these muffins, and my mom's copy is falling to bits from constant use. A few years ago, I acquired my own copy of it because I love it so much. Almost everything in it is good. Two great blueberry variations, a fun pina colada muffin, and a killer chocolate chip banana muffin with ingredients almost always in our house, among others.

Interesting. I have never seen a muffin recipe that called for liquer, although I have seen a few cake recipes that did.

I am intrigued.
