Re: Everything you wanted to know about DID/multi, but were afraid to ask.
(Anonymous) 2015-01-26 05:02 am (UTC)(link)I understand. I'm careful with my money, too. I guess you would all do banking under a legal name. Is it weird responding to a name that isn't yours and signing stuff as someone else? I posted in the name thread further up about getting confused when receptionists use my full name. Sometimes people look right at me and it still takes a minute for me to realise "oh shit, they're talking to you".
That's a pretty good rule. Lots of my family friends are involved in the church, and I'm an atheist. We mostly get along. Answered the phone at my dad's place a while ago and it was the Bishop. D:
Hi Rogan, nice to meet you.
Re: Everything you wanted to know about DID/multi, but were afraid to ask.
Rogan: Yeah, all our banking is done under the legal name, which we badly need to get changed. It's not weird responding to someone else's name so much (after all, it's normal to us!) but it's EXTREMELY uncomfortable that our current legal name belongs to a system member who's dead. Getting called by a dead person's name is creepy. Thankfully, we go by the LB name pretty much always; it's only impersonal institutions that call us anything else.
And howdy! You've actually met me before, pretty sure I'm the only who answered your original comment.
