We can generally switch as fast as certain things interest us or trigger us out. So it can happen instantaneously, though rapid-fire cycling through everyone is kinda disorienting.

No agreement is required. Certain members, myself included, are automatically forced up front and stuck there if something traumatic happens. In those cases, we can't switch even if we want to.
