Re: Everything you wanted to know about DID/multi, but were afraid to ask.
One thing you might want to keep in mind for it is that Lewis likely has his own self-image, totally different than the body he inhabits, and that this might impact how he views the prophecy, which relies a lot on appearance. (Of course, if he thinks the prophecy is bunk anyway, this very well might support his disbelief in it.)
Also, it can be INCREDIBLY draining to maintain a facade of portraying yourself as someone you aren't. So Lewis might be pretty worn out from maintaining a 24/7 Allison disguise for years on end.
Maintaining such a facade can also lead to not just fatigue, but more batshittery. It sounds like the system you're describing would be a DID sort, and if they are, that means they'll have a problem with dissociation--feeling they aren't real, or that the world they're in isn't real. Combined with the skepticism you describe in Lewis, and the constant masquerade, that could lead to some SEVERE dissociation. (For reference, we nearly jumped off a bridge in that state, because in our batshittery, I came to the conclusion that I wasn't real, that pretending I was was a terrible insult to the world around me, and that the only moral thing to do was kill myself.)
Of course, if you choose to go the route that Lewis/Allison are a non-DID system, you could sidestep that. But you would have to go into WHY trauma and dissociation didn't create them, and that might be a hard sell to your audience. (Or, alternately, require more explanation than you want to give in a story.)

If I may keep asking: non-DID system? I've never heard of that.
Re: Everything you wanted to know about DID/multi, but were afraid to ask.
Basically, there are multiples who see their multiplicity as coming from something other than trauma or dissociation. For some multis it's a spiritual experience, a creative experience, just a natural way their brain is rigged... reasons and feelings vary. And sometimes there's some mix-and-matching going on in systems--we know plenty of multis where some members say they're from trauma, others from spiritual practice, etc.
